Taipei Indigenous Community College arranges trips to indigenous communities in the Taoyuan area. Yiho is a traditional Hakka farming community trying to figure out how to preserve their heritage and beautiful cared for land. Like other rural communities, they are having a challenging time keeping their young people involved. 撒烏瓦知部落 is a relatively new Amis community that migrated from Hualien over to Taoyuan. They found the edge of government and privately owned lands that suit their lifestyle and built their community around traditional landcare practices.
