- China root 菝葜 (Bá qiā) Smilax china
- Gotu Kola 雷公根 (léi gōng gēn) Centenella asiatica
- Formosan elderberry 冇骨消 (mǒu gǔ xiāo) Sambucus chinensis Lindl. var. formosana (Nakai) H.Hara
which are known to prefer acidic soils
