Oct 9 - Paro to Drukgyel Dzong

After travelling from Thimpu to Paro the night before, we start our morning in the town of Paro, from where we drive to the end of the road at the top of the Paro valley to begin our trek.

The Paro Dzong, one of the best known dzongs in Bhutan, was originally built by the Shabdrung (founder of modern Bhutan) in 1649, atop the foundation of a monastery built by Guru Rimpoche.
