Oct 17 - Tashithang to Damji

the shape of the land and vegetation here are all reminiscent of Taiwan
large trees are hosts to curtains of the fine wispy green epiphyte moss we saw in lesser quantity in the Paro valley and a variety of orchids
the valley slopes are very steep and the air ground and vegetation are saturated with moisture, our guide warns us that there are many leaches on this section of trail
we start out on the road being built to Gasa - which does not take us far
we wait for others to cross first
the cows are wary of the suspension bridge
and must be encouraged
we don't wait for the last one
entering the takin preserve

16km
