Hike in on the Batongguan trail 八通關古道 limited by a short day after a long drive from Taipei. Bunun workers on the trail cautioned us not to go in too far to the dangerous parts.
On our second day, hike up the Batongguan trail 八通關古道 again to the the turn off down toward Chenyoulan stream 陳有蘭溪 to Lelegu Hot Springs 樂樂谷溫泉. We are limited by time again to allow for out commute back to Taipei later in the day. The gorge deserves a better exploration further upstream of where we turned around. Though we got to hot springs it seemed were were just getting to an expansive area of geothermal activity. Perhaps camping in the gorge would be a good idea for a future continued exploration.
